Full Pint Night of the Living Stout

This one is from some of the local boys in the Pittsburgh area. I think this is the first beer from them that the Gentleman has actually had. Normally everything they produce is more along the trend of American over hopping. Stouts are my bread and butter beer so I thought it would be a good place to start.

For a stout it has a serious hops kick at the end. Not surprising really given Full Pint's other offerings. There is a nice malty flavor across the tongue and then it finishes with a citrusy hop blast from the Cascade hops. Maybe a bit too much for the Gentleman as it really overwhelms the aftertaste but the Lady quite likes it.

Leinenkugel's Snowdrift Vanilla Porter

Leinenkugel reminds me of Minnesota. That's because we first drank it there, a creamy dark that has since become a favorite. Now perhaps they are part of a soulless corporate giant but the beer is quite good for the price.

The vanilla porter is a winter seasonal and is also quite nice. Strong on the vanilla with a nice malty porter backbone. It reminds you of eating some vanilla cookies.
